Author of several books, including the best-selling A Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward an Undivided Life, Parker J. Palmer is an internationally known leader of a movement to “rejoin soul with role” and founder of the Center for Courage and Renewal, an educational nonprofit that strengthens individuals, professions and communities through retreats and programs that help people reconnect who they are with what they do.
On November 4, 2009, Palmer spoke on the topic Courage to Lead: Transforming Ourselves and Our Communities from Within. After speaking, he engaged the 200 participants in a conversation around a number of topics that build on concepts from his books and work with the Center for Courage and Renewal.
(Palmer’s work is the basis for the Courage to Imagine retreat series used by the Bush Medical Fellows Program and for workshops that began this year for the 2009 Bush Leadership Fellows.)
