Julie Dalgleish Leaving Foundation

June 24, 2010—

Julie Gordon Dalgleish began work with the Foundation in 1996 as director of the Bush Artist Program, serving as a consultant until 2006 when she became a full-time employee. In the past four years, she has overseen the expansion of the Bush Artist Program to include the addition of professional development programs for the Fellows, and the introduction of two other initiatives: the Enduring Vision Awards and Dakota Creative Connections (which suspended grantmaking earlier this year). As a consultant, she also assisted in the Foundation’s grantmaking to arts organizations and was responsible for the technical assistance funds for the Regional Arts Development Program, among other projects.

Prior to her full-time work for the Foundation, Dalgleish consulted for a wide variety of arts enterprises and cultural, government and funding agencies throughout the United States and in Canada, England and New Zealand.

“While it was a difficult decision to leave the Foundation,” Dalgleish said, “the change will allow me to focus very directly on what I love—bringing artists and audiences together. After some contemplative time over the summer, I will be re-engaging with this mission and expect to find myself deeply imbedded in the cultural community once again.”

Bush Foundation Vice President Pamela Wheelock said, “We honor Julie’s desire to continue to directly focus her considerable skills and dedication on the arts and broader nonprofit communities. She has made a tremendous contribution to the work of the Foundation and, more importantly, in the broader community—both in the arts and beyond—and we thank her for that.”
