Bush Artist Program Introduces 2010 Fellows

Artist Program Overview

Historically, the three initiatives of the Bush Artist Program have created opportunities for artists to advance their work, stimulate dialogue and contribute to deeper community engagement by providing them financial and professional development support.

Since 1976, fellowships have strengthened the work of regional artists, fostered their artistic careers and supported them in exploring work that stimulates community dialogue. { LEARN MORE }

This initiative is designed to propel the artistic investigations of mature artists and to encourage their continued influence on present and future generations of artists, audiences and the artists’ field of work.

Over the course of two years (2008-2009), artists from North Dakota and South Dakota collaborated with the Bush Foundation to explore new ways of supporting professional development of artists in the region.

Currently, the Bush Foundation is pursuing three Goals for a Decade—to increase educational achievement, to support the self-determination of 23 Native nations and to develop the courageous leadership needed to solve tough public problems.

We are in the process of refining our fellowships program to enable us to select future fellows whose work and interests intersect with the issues on which the Foundation is focused.
