2008 Enduring Vision Award Recipients Announced -- $100,000 Grants Given to Frank Big Bear, Janel Jacobson and Walter Piehl Jr.

Categories

Nominations for the Enduring Vision Awards (EVA) will be accepted for artists working in the eight categories that rotate on a two-year cycle. The 2009 (odd year) awards will be made in the following five categories:

Literary Arts Deadline: TBA

For writers who work in all genres of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction and experimental forms. It does not include criticism, journalism or writing for educational purposes. For additional eligibility requirements, please see category guidelines.

 

Performance-Based Work Deadline: TBA

For artists who create original work (perform, write and/or direct) for live performance including choreography, storytelling, spoken-word, puppetry, movement/physical performance, performance art, interdisciplinary and devised theatrical works.

 

Script Works Deadline: TBA

For playwrights and screen writers. For additional eligibility requirements, please see category guidelines.

 

Music Composition Deadline: TBA

For composers who work in a range of genres such as jazz, blues, chamber, symphonic, electronic, experimental or as singer/songwriters.

 

Traditional & Ethnic Performing Arts Deadline: TBA

For artists working in a performance tradition that has endured through several generations and is characteristic of an ethnic, religious, linguistic and/or regional group. This includes music, dance and storytelling with priority to artists who have achieved mastery of a folk or traditional ethnic art.

 

The 2010 (even year) fellowships will be awarded in three categories including:
