Nathaniel Freeman (Minneapolis, Minn.), born in Arcata, Calif., received his BFA from the University of Montana, Missoula, in 1998 and his MFA from the School of Art+Design at Alfred University (N.Y.) in 2005. He has shown work both nationally and internationally, including solo exhibitions with Lemmons Contemporary in New York, and Linda Durham Contemporary Art in Santa Fe. Group shows have included the San Francisco International Art Exposition, HallWalls Contemporary Arts Center in Buffalo (N.Y.), the International Digital Art Awards touring exhibition and the Beijing Film Academy. He has received grants from the Missoula Cultural Council and the Minnesota State Arts Board. Freeman currently teaches at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, and lives with his wife, writer Emily Freeman, and their two dogs, in a converted storefront in northeast Minneapolis.
